<p><em>Virginia Beach, Virginia</em> – The lights will be turning on at the BayPort Credit
Union Holiday Lights Merry Mile, bringing joy and wonder to Hampton Roads this holiday season! From November
22 through December 30, take a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands – all along the
beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk. Festive fish, musical crabs, and hard-working elves – all in bright,
colored lights against the clear night-time sky, are the stars of The BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights
Merry Mile. They are joined by Santa, elves, and a 40-foot tall Christmas tree erected on the beach and in
the beautiful parks along the Virginia Beach boardwalk.</p>
<p>This intimate holiday light display presents fish swimming above your car, a giant castle, snow
globes, and spectacular RGB light tunnels to drive through. We’ve hand-picked some of our most popular
displays to feature in this “boutique” family-friendly experience.</p>
<p>For 2018 we welcome BayPort Credit Union as the name-in-title sponsor for the Holiday Lights Merry

able to tune their car radio to a frequency to hear holiday music along the BayPort Credit Union Holiday
Lights Merry Mile, making it easy to see AND hear why this event has been named one of the Southeast Tourism

<p>Tickets for the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival are $30 in advance ($35 after October 15) for
Saturday, October 20, and $25 in advance ($30 after October 15) for Sunday, October 21. All tickets purchased
through Ticketmaster are subject to service fees. A limited number of tickets will be available each day.
Tickets are sold at the door only if available. </p>

<p>The Bar-Kays are an American soul, R&B, and funk group formed in 1966. The group had dozens
of charting singles from the 1960s to the 1980s, including "Soul Finger" (US Billboard Hot 100 number 17,
R&B number 3) in 1967, "Son of Shaft" (R&B number 10) in 1972, and "Boogie Body Land"
(R&B number 7) in 1980. The Bar-Kays will take the stage on Friday, August 24, at 9:45pm.</p>
<p>The S.O.S. Band (sometimes written SOS Band; abbreviation for Sounds Of Success) is an American
R&B and electro-funk group who gained fame in the 1980s. They are best known for the songs "Take Your
Time (Do It Right)," "Just Be Good to Me," "Tell Me If You Still Care," and "The Finest." The SOS band will
perform on Saturday, August 15, at 9:45pm.</p>

<p><em>Virginia Beach, Virginia</em> – The Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion takes over the
Virginia Beach Boardwalk from 10:00am-5:00pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018, as artists and “wanna-be artists”
gather to turn the boardwalk into an impromptu canvas of color! Artist registration will be on the boardwalk
at 17th Street, and art will be on display between 15<sup>th</sup> and 17<sup>th</sup>
Streets.</p>
<p>At Chalk the Walk, participants draw four by four foot chalk drawings for three blocks along the
boardwalk. This year's theme will be <strong>A World of Magic</strong>. Participants might
consider the following ideas for their drawings: Anything “Harry Potter,” any other movies or TV shows about
magic or the supernatural, magical Disney moments, magicians and illusionists, or any images that reflect the
magic of the wonderful world around us.</p>
<p>200 competitors will complete chalk drawings to be evaluated by a panel of judges. Judges will score
the drawings according to criteria such as composition, use of color, adherence to theme, and creativity.
There will be three competitive divisions: Amateur, Professional, and Youth. The Youth division will be for
ages 12-16. Children 11 and under will be invited to draw for fun in a separate area. Trophies and cash
prizes will be awarded for each division. Winners will be announced at 4:30pm at the registration tent. The
hours for the Chalk the Walk are 10:00am-5:00pm. <strong><span style="text-decoration:
underline;">All participants must register by 12:30pm to qualify for the competition</span>. All
drawings must be completed by 3:30pm to be eligible for prizes. </strong></p>
<p>Advance registration for Chalk the Walk is not required. There is no fee to participate, but it is
recommended that artists bring their own chalk.</p>

<p>VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Chartway Federal Credit Union 25<sup>th</sup> Annual American
Music Festival, presented by Cruzan Rum, will feature four major headline bands on the oceanfront
5<sup>th</sup> Street Main Stage Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and 2. ZZ Top, Goo Goo Dolls, Ziggy Marley and
SOJA will celebrate the event’s Silver Anniversary with the return of two of the most popular AMF bands ever.
ZZ Top performed on the 5<sup>th</sup> Street Stage in 2011, and Goo Goo Dolls headlined in
2003.</p>
<p>AMF music fans will have two options to purchase limited availability Preferred Viewing at a separate
area directly in front of the Main Stage. The space also includes access to preferred area, beer and wine
concession tents and restrooms.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Friday, Aug.
31</span></strong>: Ziggy Marley is the heir to his father Bob Marley’s iconic position as the
foremost proponent of reggae music. An eight-time Grammy Award winner, Marley released his seventh solo album
“Rebellion Rises” in May. The record entered the Billboard Reggae charts at No. 1. The entire album is a
message to the best side of humanity. It’s a rallying cry and encouragement for everyone to stand up and try
to make a better world.</p>
<p>As the oldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, Ziggy continues his musical love of his family. A
multi-faceted artist, he has made an international name for himself as a heralded live performer, singer,
songwriter, producer and collaborator. </p>
<p>Ziggy Marley is well-known and loved in the region, performing in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2012 and
2013. </p>

2</span></strong>: ZZ Top, “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” returns to AMF after a triumphant
2011 5<sup>th</sup> Street Main Stage headlining performance. The band attracted one of the
largest audiences in the history of AMF and continues to be cited as one of the most dynamic, professional and
exciting concerts in the 25 years of the annual Festival. </p>
<p>ZZ Top is Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. The trio has stayed together since forming in
1969 in Houston, establishing the record for longest time a rock ‘n’ roll band has continued with all original
members.</p>
<p>ZZ Top is among the top-100-selling artists in the U.S. according to the <a
href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recording_Industry_Association_of_America" title="Recording Industry
Association of America">Recording Industry Association of America</a>. They have 11 Gold, seven
Platinum and three Multi-Platinum records. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.</p>

that produces the Festival. “The VIP experience provides concert viewing in an exclusive area directly in
front of the stage on all three days. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, VIP-only restrooms, two free beers or wine, and
admission to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday concerts provide special benefits and explains why this offer has
sold out every year.”</p>

<p><strong><em>Hot for Teacher</em> (Van Halen tribute band)</strong></p>
<p><em>Hot for Teacher</em> brings audiences the rocking sounds of Van Halen. Formed in 1999
to showcase Van Halen’s classic era of David Lee Roth hits, <em>Hot for Teacher</em> has
relentlessly performed all across the United States. This band is perfect for outdoor festivals, large casino
events, and packed concert venues nation-wide. Featured on television and in magazines, <em>Hot for
Teacher</em> was also featured in the book, “Everybody Wants Some – the Van Halen Saga” by Ian Christie.
In 2008, <em>Hot for Teacher </em>was voted Best Tribute Band by the East Bay Express and became
the first tribute ever invited to perform at the prestigious National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) in
Anaheim, CA. For over three years they have been entertaining at the annual event.</p>
<p><strong><em>Draw the Line</em> (Aerosmith tribute band)</strong></p>
<p>Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, the <em>Draw The Line</em> Aerosmith Tribute Band’s
career has spanned almost fifteen years, taking them all over the world. The band has performed in all but two
U.S. states. They have also been to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories. They
have toured England, Canada, South America, and Japan. During a January 1998 interview, Aerosmith singer
Steven Tyler singled out <em>Draw The Line</em> as the “best of the Aerosmith tribute bands.”
<em>Draw The Line</em>'s lead singer, Neill Byrnes, won a Steven Tyler look-alike contest on 107.3
WAAF, one of Boston's biggest rock radio stations.</p>
<p><strong><em>Rumours (Fleetwood Mac tribute band)</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Rumours</em> is the country’s premier Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Based in Atlanta,
GA, <em>Rumours</em> captures the energy of Fleetwood Mac at the height of their career by
blending perfect harmonies, precise instrumentation, and a visually engaging stage show.
<em>Rumours</em>’ dedication to recreating the Fleetwood Mac experience has skyrocketed their

<p>Additional activities include the Mambo Room Zumba Marathon on Saturday, June 23, from 8am-noon at
the 17th Street Park. Our friends from the Mambo Room will have dozens of instructor on-site ready to share
some of their favorite moves with patrons of all ages and skill levels.</p>
<p>Vendors and cultural activities in the 24th Street Park will round out this fun-filled festival
weekend.</p>
<p>Event proceeds support the Virginia Legends Walk.</p>
