Frequently Asked Questions

BeachEvents is the event program presenter for the City of Virginia Beach, with concerts, festivals, and activities primarily held at the oceanfront resort area. Below you will find answer too many frequently asked questions, information about our organization.

How do I get started? Begin by completing the Vendor Inquiry Form at the bottom of the main Vendor page. Be sure to include as much specific information regarding your business, the items you would like to sell and details about your event site set up as possible.

How many vendors will attend each event? The number of vendor’s chosen for each event is based on the size of each vendors set up. BeachEvents is careful to vary the type of vendors selected to offer our attendees a full festival experience while promoting a profitable vending environment.

Do I have to sign a contract? A vending contract will be emailed to your organization. A signed copy of the contract, proof of insurance and payment in full are due to BeachEvents 30 days prior to the event.

Do I need insurance? All businesses wishing to participate with BeachEvents must be able to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance with the appropriate additional insureds and monetary limits. Insurance requirements are listed below.

What permits do I need? Your business must be in good standing with the Virginia Beach Commissioner of Revenue (Phone 757-385-4515). Food vendors must be in good standing with the Virginia Environmental Health Department (Phone 757-518-2646 or 757–518 –2700).  The Fire Marshal may be contacted at (Phone 757-385-4228) regarding any questions pertaining to the Fire Safety Requirements that you may have. Participation in any event is contingent upon meeting the requirements of these three City of Virginia Beach departments.

Do any sponsors have exclusive sales rights? BeachEvents has an exclusive beverage sponsorship with Coca-Cola. Vendors are restricted to the sale of Coca-Cola brand beverage products only. This includes brand soft drinks, water and juices. We reserve the right to secure additional exclusive sponsorships in additional categories before and during the event season. 

Where do I park while working events and festivals at the oceanfront? Parking arrangements for personal vehicles, box trucks and trailers are the sole responsibility of the individual vendor. Arrangements should be made prior to the event date to assure larger vehicles can be accommodated.
