Virginia Beach National Chess Day Festival

Join us for a celebration of the Game of Kings!  The City of Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads Chess Association present the 4th Annual Virginia Beach National Chess Day, Saturday, October 7th, from 8 AM to 6 PM, at the Fountain Plaza in Town Center.  Free Chess Lessons will be offered throughout the day for those who wish to learn how to play.  National Masters will be on hand for a take-all-comers Blitz challenge throughout the day.  Players can enjoy a game of chess on our giant chess set or explore chess variations such as four-way chess, Plunder chess, the all new Equalizer Dice chess,

Halloween Town & Treat

Town Center of Virginia Beach hosts the annual Halloween Town & Treat, with activities for families at Fountain Plaza!

Dress up in your finest Halloween attire and participate in family-friendly games, crafts, and other fun activities like arts & crafts, balloon art, pumpkin decorating, and more!  Please note: activities and arts & crafts are offered while supplies last.

Visit Candy Stations all around Town Center (while supplies last)!

Bring your best funky styles and your best funky friends to the Virginia Beach oceanfront at 24th Street for funk and disco era bands, great home cooked-style food and create some new memories that remind you of the good old days.

Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock & Roll

Sandstock – A Tribute To Rock & Roll is a beach-inspired variation on “Woodstock” at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront June 28-30. National and regional tribute artists cover songs from some of the greatest rockers in history. New this year is a 50th Anniversary tribute to the original 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Festival. All Sandstock performances are free and everyone is welcome.

Salute to Summer

Salute to Summer is an unabashed “Star-Spangled” salute to great music, fun in the sun, and the men and women of the military who have sacrificed their lives throughout our history.

Enjoy free entertainment on three outdoor stages featuring live music by local and regional bands.

Virginia International PAN Fest

The Virginia International PAN Fest is a musical adventure set to the soothing sounds of steel pan music. The festival’s casual atmosphere appeals to the island community and people of all ages who are intrigued by the unique sounds and style of steel drum music! Fusing together the rhythm of steel bands, ocean breezes, and great international food, the breathtaking Virginia Beach oceanfront becomes an “island paradise” for the weekend.      

Atlantic Coast Kite Festival

The Atlantic Coast Kite Festival is CANCELED FOR SUNDAY, MAY 5 DUE TO IMPENDING INCLEMENT WEATHER. We hope to see you next year!

Kite fliers and spectators of all ages will experience a visual feast at the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival.  This popular event features a variety of activities appropriate for all ages and all levels of kite aficionados.
